Victoria Falls

A tour around the Victoria Falls affords not only a view of one of the Seven Wonders of the Natural World but information about their creation and geology, the unique eco-system of the rainforest, daring exploits of colonial explorers and magical tales of local legend under the constant spray from the “The Smoke that Thunders”. This tour is conducted in the morning and afternoon. En route, clients may be taken past the 'Big Tree' where they may stop and take photos. Clients will be accompanied through the Rainforest by one of our qualified Guides who will give a brief history of the Falls themselves as well as detailing the flora, fauna, bird & wildlife and other points of interest. Guides are also happy to assist clients with photographs whilst visiting this most spectacular of waterfalls You can do a morning, afternoon or evening tour with transfer provided.

This is not just another ethnic restaurant, but a unique cultural experience. Excellent cuisine, including a variety of game meats and traditional Zimbabwean dishes, is accompanied by entertainment throughout your meal from traditional dancers, the Sangoma (story teller) and a local fortune teller who is available for fortune telling. The Boma is open for dinner from 7.00pm until late 365 days of the year. The Boma nestles in a Gusu Forest and is partly open to the spectacular African night skies. A feast of nightly entertainment incorporates Shangaan dancers and singers and a local fortune teller. Guests are welcomed with a traditional greeting in Shona and Ndebele, the local languages. They are invited to take part in a hand washing ceremony before sampling traditional beer and snacks, as a prelude to dinner.

A visit to Victoria Falls isn’t complete without a mesmerising Sunset Cruise, and Pure Africa’s flagship Zambezi Explorer’s two beautifully fitted ‘Luxury Decks’ are an ideal option for this. Completely refurbished with Ndebele-patterned chairs, generous lounge seating and views through sun bleached UV-protected curtains that gently hold back the afternoon breeze. Cruise the watery wilderness with the spray of the Victoria Falls, small river islands and lush vegetation as your backdrop. Throughout the cruise canapés and drinks are served. Into the experience, you’ll be treated to the most magical sunset – an African classic – before heading back to the Pure Africa Waterfront.
