The Top Section- Class 3-5 Rapids ( Gullivers Travel, the Terminator and Oblivion) & Overnight Camping

The first part of any rafting experience is very much a learning exercise followed by Swimming Under The Spry Of The Victoria Falls, however today there is no gradual build up; Depending on the water level this 26km stretch on day one is by far the wildest section of river that will be covered. This trip including many class 4 and 5 rapids. Some of the rapids on day one include Morning Glory, Stairway to Heaven, Land of The Giants, and The Devil's Toilet Bowl . We will reach our beach campsite at rapid #21 at about 4 pm.

Whitewater Rafting ( Open Season, Lower Moemba)

We rise as the sun illuminates the towering walls above, to the smell of bacon and eggs on the fire. Then, with all the equipment once more stowed securely for the voyage down stream, and a long day ahead of us , we cast off into a world of exhilarating action and scenes of remarkable beauty. We will have sleep near Moemba Falls rapid at our nice sand beach camp.

Rafting and Check out

It starts with portaging around Moemba Falls which is a class 6 rapid. We will then raft 2 rapids before we arrive at the Dam site around 11 am where we will have the second portage then start that long walk to the top of the canyon ice cold soft drinks and beers will be waiting. Our lunch will served on our way back to town which will take about two hours drive.

We had a great time on our 2 day rafting trip. OG was an amazing guide and the whole team works so hard to make it fun and easy for guests.
Amazing people and unforgettable experience

Such an amazing experience that won't be soon forgotten. We used this company and its rafting team first for a multiday trip whitewater rafting down the Zambezi and couldn't give higher praise for the team. Philani aka MD was our guardian throughout the trip and was not only a professional but an incredible joy to be with. JB was our safety guy who was always on the lockout for us and also an amazing cook for our dinners. Warren and Troy joined us on the 2nd and 3rd days and were absolutely awesome help. A trip down the Zambezi is a once in a lifetime experience and I'm glad we did it with these guys. We also used the company to help us book several other activities (Devil's Pool, day trip to Chobe, etc). Marvel was our front office contact during the trip and provided amazing service in giving us recommendations, letting us change dates at the last minute, and arranging COVID testing and visas. Could not recommend this group of people more!
Unbelievable experience and service

Unbelievable experience! MD, JB, Troy, Warren, and the rest of the team did an unbelievable job taking us out on the Zambezi for a 3 day 2 night adventure. We also used Shockwave to plan our Devils pool trip, Bungee jumping on the Victoria falls bridge, and a safari at Chobe national park in Botswana. They were unbelievably helpful and went above and beyond time and time again. They helped us figure out what visas we needed, helped us get our Covid tests for our return trip, and we’re available to answer any questions we had during our stay in Zim. I cannot express how amazing this experience was and would recommend Shockwave to anyone planning an activity packed trip to Zim!
Multi Day Rafting - AMAZING!

I did this 3 day trip recently with my girlfriend for my 40th birthday. We're both pretty outgoing and up for a bit of an adventure so it sounded ideal and watching some of the Youtube videos it really appealed to the adrenaline junkies inside of us. This was the first part of a bigger trip in central/southern Africa so it took a bit of organizing. Jennifer and Benko were super easy to deal with in the beginning and make the booking process much easier than I was expecting, always a good start when this happens! I asked loads of questions and they always came back to me within 24h which was great. When we arrived in Victoria falls Shockwave got us to their office/shop for the briefing and we met OG who is the most laid back guy on the planet. We could just tell straight away he had done this about 500 times before and he just had this covered. Day 1 is the biggest rafting day with most of the named rapids, massive fun and you really feel part of a team getting the raft down the river. OG at the back controlling everything making sure we were all ok and just bossing the river. Amazing fun and a great start to the holiday. Days 2 and 3 (half day) were more gentle but the Zambezi gorge is huge and there are loads of things to see. It was quite a chilled out day 2 and 3 with large stretches of calm water but still pretty good fun and definitely worth doing the longer trip. We camped for 2 nights at the side of the river bank on these small beaches which was very cool. Baboons on the Zambia side of the river taking a good look at us and the occasional small Croc to keep us company! The food was good and we had a few beers by the campfire each night along with a some games and challenges to fill the evening in. It was awesome to sleep outside next to the fire under the stars, before getting up the next day and doing it all again. The last day was a half day and then a big walk out of the gorge, more beers at the end and then a truck ride back to Victoria Falls. We went at the start of the rainy season in November and that is something to see on it's own. For me, the 2.5 day trip was the perfect length, 1 day would definitely not have been enough but most of the big named rapids are on day 1 so any more than this and you're kind of repeating day 2 again and again on the quieter water. Massive thanks to our team. OG, Liberty and Admire who were with us for the 3 days, you guys really made it a special trip which was action packed, fun and nothing like we'd ever done before. I would definitely recommend Philani and his team at Shockwave if you're thinking of going on this adventure.

Not into reviews myself but this trip gets one, it needs to come from my soul. Alans posted already and I must too. Shockwave all the way. Ive been on many trips most I arrange, my lot call me the travel agent, Ive been fortunate to have seen and done some amazing things and rafted several rivers in my time. This was the the Creme de la Creme and 20 years in the waiting. I cannot thank Philani and his team we went with enougth for their attention to detail and how profesional they all were. Alan with his son Jamie on board, my son Luke who trecked all the way from Vancouver to join us. Kev and Paul what great mates. Amazing ?Amazing Amazing. I have more to do in my life but never will I top this trip. The most honest and freindly people I have ever oncountered both in Zim and Zamba. I am planning a trip back to stay in Livingstone and will catch up with shockwave again then.
