Chobe National Park

Between 7h00 hours and 07h30 Guests are transferred from their respective hotels/lodges to Kasane Botswana and are escorted through Immigration formalities. A short briefing will follow on some pertinent facts such as safety, and some regional information. At 09h30 guests board the boat and commence a 3 hour boat cruise into the Chobe National park. The river cruise is considered one of the highlights of the trip, as one gets the opportunity to get up close and personal with fantastic bird-life, hippos, crocodiles, and of course scores of elephant and Cape buffalo that make their way down to the river to quench their thirst. Then depart on an afternoon game drive - this being the best time to see Chobe’s large herbivores making their way down to the river to drink.

Chobe National Park

Guests are woken at dawn with warm water being poured into their basins and a friendly Botswana “dumela” (good day). After a quick cup of tea or coffee and a light Continental breakfast vehicles head off on an early morning game drive. This time of day is best for finding the big cats or the rare Wild Dogs as they are still active at this time and chances of seeing them are good. Around mid to late morning guests return to camp for a delicious “bush brunch” and a siesta getting an opportunity to read rest or take a refreshing shower. When the day starts to cool off another afternoon game drive follows. Chobe National Park has a wide variety of game - the cats and large herbivores such as elephant and buffalo being a highlight, but rarer game such as Puku, Eland, Sable and Roan antelope along with many more common antelope can be viewed here. Dinner follows, as always accompanied by the unforgettable sounds of the African night.

everything was ok, contact, trip, organization, very good hotel. Trips to Chobe with VIC are highly recommended I recommend Africa Zim Travel & Tours and especially Pamala's help. She was very supportive.
Such a great experience!

My friend and I had an awesome time. Our guide, Mr. T, was fantastic - so friendly and knowledgeable and worked hard for our group to see as many animals and beautiful sights as possible! The whole experience was great - from the boat tour to game drives at sunrise and sunset to camping and to the food! I would recommend this tour to anyone.
A fantastic experience!

We were so excited to go on safari, and this tour did not disappoint! Camping in the park gives more time for game viewing than staying in nearby lodges, as it cuts down on the time required to drive from the entrance of the park to deeper inside Chobe. The variety of wildlife is spectacular - I could watch elephants interacting all day! Our guide worked really hard, too, trying to track down big cats - this will depend a bit on your luck, but we managed to get lucky, seeing lions on our last day! I was very impressed by the comforts of the camp - the bush toilet and shower were unexpected luxuries, and the food was great, especially considering it was cooked in a camp kitchen. The camp staff did a great job taking care of us. The one negative was that we had to wait at the border for an hour for another group to join us, before travelling back to Victoria Falls. This was in no way a major problem, but was just a bit of a downer when we were already very tired after a big few days. We would definitely still recommend this tour.

Transfers from vic falls ran like clockwork.. v impressed.. border on way out was v easy on the way back the zim side despite us having the multi entry kasa visit felt it necessary to charge us another 55 US dollars !! Our safari was great our guide Maobi certainly knew his stuff .. we saw a huge amount of game .. over a hundred elephants and at least 30 lion in basically two days One note of warning the camping is extremely basic .. but it didn’t spoil our experience.. the food too was v basic but again it was adequate . Bedding was a foam mattress on the ground with a blanket .. but funnily enough my back didn’t hurt at all !! No drinks are included only water so be prepared to stop off at the shops on the way into the reserve All in all a fantastic experience but def no frills
Exceptional experience! Well-packaged mini-safari with a great guide

Our 3 days (2 nights) in Chobi National Park will curely be the highlight of our trip. Firstly, Chobi Park, when we were there was very dry and hot in Late October and animals were plentiful by the river. But what made the safari was our experienced and friendly guide, Simbarashe (I hope I have the name correct) and his 3-man team who went out of his way to take us off the beaten track to see a full range of birds and mammals but also added detailed information on tracking and animal tracks, plant, and the park ecosystem. We had visited other game parks in the past but this experience was our best yet. Our group consisted of 2 couples, and we were matched in number by the safari team. The camp chef, Simba, was also excellent and whipped up a number of flavourful dishes. Other details of the safari are well-covered in other reviews.
