Our Community and Conservation project let volunteers get engaged in a variety of activities that aim to mitigate the ongoing conflict between communities in the area and lions attacking livestock, as well as provide rural schools with teaching assistance.

Itinerary

Volunteers’ main tasks:
• Providing teaching assistance in a variety of local schools
• Raising literacy awareness and academic education among the local students from government schools at the local Reading Club
• Interacting with community children through games and helping with homework and school projects at the local Kid’s Club
• Assisting in the mitigation of human-wildlife conflict through the use of new, innovative technologies for deterring wild lions from livestock
• Giving conservation lessons in rural schools to expand the pupils understanding of conservation and highlight the role they can play in it
