What To Expect
The Mbare Cultural Tour is centered on exploring the heritage, culture, and people of Mbare Township and their creativity. Highlights include a brief history of the development of the township, beginning at the oldest cemetery in Harare with the graves of white settlers dating back to the 1890s, and including those who participated in the first and second world war. The tour also showcases the colonial infrastructure of hostels that housed male immigrants, dating back to the 1940s.
