To do a level 5 white water rafting was great, has been waiting to do this rafting on Zambezi river for more that 3 years, joined up with a German group. even with the water level very low in Dec 2019 it was still an experience i will never forget. This is a must do if you are in the area, We flipped a few times and safety comes first with this company, lots of rescue kayaks around to pick you up if you fall out. No need to worry they look good after you just pay attention to their instructions.

Wow! what an adventure! My wife and I did the white water rafting on the Zambezi with Shearwater. It was low water season and there were more rapids available. It was truling amazing, from swimming in the warm Zambezi water, working as a group and navigating the rapids and chilling on the calm stretches while you take in the amazing view. You have to do this to really appreciate the mighty Zambezi and it's beautiful scenery. Our rafting guide JB was a Champion, very experienced, funny and a chilled out guy. Ended it off with a tough hike up the gorge and a rewarding meal and beer! 5 stars to Shearwater. Note: you need to be fairly fit to do this, especially the hike at the end of the rafting.

Rafting on the Zambezi River was absolutely incredible. The guides are extremely knowledgeable and funny, and they make sure you have the time of your life. Totally worth every dollar spent!
a wonderful ride and a challenging hike

Loved paddling down the river with excellent guide, Steve. You don't have to flip over!! But he did let people ride over some of the easier rapids hanging on to the boat in the water by choice. The water moves differently than any other river I have been on, with waves coming from the sides and meeting in the middle rather than being caused by the rocks below. The river was middling high so we only went from rapid #11 to #24. This took 2 hours. When it is lower they can walk around #9, but at this time there is no dry passage. When it is higher, it is too dangerous. NOTE: difficult hike in and out of the gorge. It took me an hour to get up to the vehicle to take us back to town; stopping to breathe often and my legs still ache three days later. Also no towels and no changing rooms. Don't bother to bring dry things. The vehicle taking you back to town is open and you will dry in the air.
