Join this week-long vacation to Zimbabwe and you will learn about the natural wonder of Victoria Falls as well as enjoy a rich safari in the national parks of Chobe and Hwange. In Victoria Falls, there are various activities that may be scheduled, including boma meals, cruises on the Zambezi River, and interactions with elephants. The granite plateau's erosion has left a variety of balanced rock formations at Matobo National Park. Both black and white rhinos, as well as considerable populations of black eagles, can be found in the park.
Once you arrive at Victoria Falls International Airport (VFA), you will be picked up and transferred to your place of accommodation. It is important that you let us know your flight details beforehand, as the collection time will depend on the arrival time of your flight. At 15h30, you will meet with your driver-guide for a pick-up to the sunset cruise. On this cruise, you will sail up the mighty Zambezi River as the sun goes down, so you can immerse yourself in the natural delights of the golden Zimbabwean sunset. Observe the birds flocking to the waters and watch the local animals arrive for their last drink of the day. All of this will happen while enjoying tasty finger foods and a full open bar to wrap up day one.
This tour departs from Victoria Falls to the Chobe National Park in Botswana. You will be transferred to the Kazungula border where the Botswana guide will meet you. From there you'll proceed straight to the river where you will spend the morning game viewing along the Chobe River. Tea, coffee & biscuits are provided. The morning cruise ends at around 12.30 pm and you will then be taken to a hotel on the riverbank for lunch. After lunch, you will a board safari vehicle for an afternoon game drive in the Chobe National Park where you will have the opportunity to enjoy an abundance of wildlife. After the game drive, you are taken back to the Kazungula Border where you will be met by the Zimbabwean guide for the return transfer to Victoria Falls, arriving at approximately 5.30 pm. Please note: Due to the previous night’s sightings, the order of the activities might be changed, i.e. start with a game drive and finish with the boat cruise.
After your check out at 8:30 am you will be picked up from your hotel to Guided tour of the falls. This experience takes you through parts of the Victoria Falls Rainforest to the precipice opposite the massive cascade. From there, there are unencumbered views of the main falls. Get ready to witness the remarkable power of nature, and a spectacle you will remember for all your life. After 3 hours exploring the natural wonder you will then picked up from Victoria Falls town to Hwange National park. Our guides will help you to check in at Hwange Safari Lodge. You will have to have your lunch whilst waiting for your Afternoon game drive in Hwange national park. Hwange is renowned for its huge tuskers – big old bulls with magnificent tusks. It is also here that the famous Presidential Herd drinks – these elephants’ home-range is amongst the dense feeding areas of the Sikumi Vlei and where they find refuge from the scorching heat at Ivory’s water hole.
You will enjoy a full day games drive to explore the superb wildlife in the park. We set out very early morning and late afternoon as these are the best times for wildlife viewing as the animals are most active during the cooler times and often rest during the heat of midday. Packed lunch will be served at a picnic site in the bush. Hwange ranks among the top national parks in Africa in terms of size, diversity and quantity of game. Big game includes lion, leopard, rhino and buffalo as well as some of Africa’s largest elephant herds. In the expert hands of our guides, you’ll find yourself heading out through the acacia-fringed grassy vleis and through the teak forests in search of Hwange’s Big Five. Game drives are the best way to see the variety of wildlife and scenery of the park and they almost always yield unexpected sightings.
In the morning, you will be transfered to Matobo National Parks for 2 Nights at Matobo Hills Lodge on Fully Inclusive and upon arrival you will have lunch at the Lodge. Upon arrival at the Lodge, you have lunch. In the evening, you will have Dinner at the Lodge. Matobo Hills Lodge is situated within a private wildlife reserve bordering Matobo National Park (50km from Bulawayo). Matobo hills is an area of exquisite beauty, the lodge's accommodation units are built upon a granite outcrop with sweeping panoramic views over the surrounding hills. Please note that you can choose what to do for the afternoon but it all comes with an extra cost.
Soon after breakfast, you do the Matopo Tour, Matopo park is 423 square kilometers and has approximately 3,000 San (bushman) art paintings, some more than 15,000 years old. Today's excitement starts with a morning hike to see some of these impressive, ancient San paintings, We later visit the grave of Cecil John Rhodes. Zimbabwe, known as Rhodesia, up until 1979, was named after Rhodes. In the afternoon, we enjoy a game drive and search on foot for resident black and white rhinos with your knowledgeable Professional guide.
Its depends with your departure time, you will be picked up from Matobo Hills Lodge early in the morning and transferred you to Victoria Falls or we can drop you at Bulawayo airport as well as drop in Harare but Harare drop off comes with an extra cost.
